Together we host over 150 arts events every year through all 4 seasons on Mackinac Island

The Mackinac Arts Council promotes creativity through arts programs and activities to enrich the quality of life for all Mackinac Island residents, students, employees and guests visiting the Island.

With your donation to the Mackinac Arts Council, we strengthen our community and engage all who love Mackinac. Your support brings together our entire community through our arts education, our concert series, our theater, Music in the Park, Mackinac's Got Talent, movies, and gallery exhibitions and more.

Every year residents, employees & tourists come to the Island on boats, planes, and snowmobiles. They come to live, work and vacation; to share, to marry, to play, to be part of something exquisite that resides in the spirit of Mackinac, a community united around its love for the Island.

Mackinac has an undeniable draw that brings us back and keeps us here.

Your donations help us keep our community thriving with a vibrant and growing arts culture that benefits residents, employees and guests of Mackinac Island through all four seasons of the year. Thank you for generously giving to arts and culture on Mackinac.

GIVE LATER

5 / 5 · By pledging $5,000 per year over 5 years, you have an opportunity to create a sustaining influence upon our work that allows us to plan programming beyond a one-year budget.

Planned Giving · For many donors, the greatest opportunity to give a major gift or leave a legacy is a gift at the end of their lifetime. We work with donors to tailor your planned giving according to your wishes. We encourage you to work with your professional advisor to address your unique situation. The following are a variety of planned giving options.

Deferred or Planned Gift · For many a major gift when there are unknowns ahead may not be possible. A deferred gift is realized upon death when the assets are no longer needed. You simply designate the Mackinac Arts Council as the beneficiary of your asset by will, trust or other instrument.

Bequest · A bequest through your will or charitable trust is one of the simplest ways to give later to the Mackinac Arts Council. This is a simple option that allows you to enjoy all your assets while you are alive and provide a meaningful gift to the arts and culture of Mackinac Island at the end of your lifetime.

Life Insurance · Life insurance makes it possible for virtually everyone to make a meaningful gift. Policies that are no longer needed for their original purpose can make excellent gifts to the Mackinac Arts Council. You can either designate the Mackinac Arts Council as the beneficiary, or you can gift the policy during your life and likely receive an immediate tax deduction.

Retirement Assets · Retirement Assets can be easily gifted to the Mackinac Arts Council at the end of your lifetime or as part of your scheduled withdrawal from tax deferred retirement accounts if you are over 72.5 years old. This can be done by changing the beneficiary designation for the retirement asset. Such gifts at end of life can help reduce income taxes payable by your family and also can help save estate taxes. Please confer with your professional advisor to learn the best approach in your situation.

Charitable Remainder Trust · A charitable Remainder trust is established by you. It is a separate trust that benefits only you or your designated beneficiaries and, ultimately the Mackinac Arts Council. There are multiple types of charitable remainder trusts to fit a variety of situation. We encourage you to speak with your professional advisor to learn what will work best for you.

Legacy Society · The Mackinac Arts Council Legacy Society recognizes individuals and couples who have notified us that they have made plans to leave a legacy for Mackinac Arts Council with a planned or deferred gift to the Council.
